Tertulia 02
a gathering designed to celebrate and delve into the rich tapestry of Latino culture, heritage, and its profound influence on design.
Our inaugural Tertulia last October was a vibrant testament to the power of community, drawing over 75 passionate individuals from across the design spectrum in the New York metro area. It was an evening of insightful presentations by 5 powerhouse Latinas, with meaningful discussions, and a lively cultural exchange, accentuated by the flavors of Pisco, Arepas, Empanadas, and the rhythms of Latin music.
Tertulia 02 aims to further this dialogue, focusing on the critical intersection of climate resilience, decarbonization policies, and the unique role Latino designers play in this evolving narrative.
The prompt for this event is a reflection on our dual roles: as stewards of a rich, diverse heritage facing unique environmental challenges, and as contributors to New York’s innovative climate action landscape. How does your design identity and experience shape your approach to climate change? What projects or perspectives are you most proud of that bring Latin American climate resilience strategies to the forefront in New York?
